Cockpit is an application for management of infrastructure maintenance of bridge structures. Like IMWZ it is based on the complex Markov stochastic model of processes of deterioration and maintenance. But in contrast to IMWZ, its modelling capabilities are more fine grained, which means that a bridge can be modeled as a structure which is composed of parts, whereas each part can be even further subdivided into segments as basic units of inspection and modelling.
Cockpit is written in C# with user interface front end done in Microsoft Excel, and MS SQL back end database which contains inspection and Markov processes data. It offers an excellent performance when dealing with large amount of data which typically can include several thousands of bridges. Also, it is a mighty what- if analysis tool , especially regarding to variations in the overall system budget available for maintenance, and overall system requirement regarding mean state value during time horizon of simulation and prediction.
